From Los Angeles, take I-15 North, past Las Vegas, take US93 East to the entrance of Lake Mead, turn Left into this entrance ($5 or National Parks Pass), which is 4 mi E of Boulder City, NV ... drive about an hour to the East Entrance of Valley of Fire State Park, drive into the park, DO NOT self-register, find the Group Campsites by the Bee Hives formation/point of interest; we're in group site #3.
**There is a quicker way into the park by taking SR 169 to the West Entrance, but it is an ugly ride and you'll end-up having to pay a $10 entrance fee, which I won't be able to reimburse you. In essence, the entrance fee would be paid twice .. once by you, and once by me. Go the scenic way.
