This hike will take us on a 3 mile loop over Mt. Watatic and around the back side of the mountain. The elevation is 1832 feet with a 650 foot climb. There is an excellent view to the East and South
The parking lot for Mt. Watatic is off Rt. 119 on the north side of the road behind a gate (Route 119 forks off of the Concord Rotary to the northwest for anyone comming from the Boston area).
Trailhead located 1.7 Miles south of the NH/MA line on 119 and 1.4 miles north of the intersection of Rt 101 in Ashburnham, MA
Just before the entrance comming from either direction, there is a sign saying "mid state trail"
This was a fun, yet moderate hike to Mt. Watatic. 5 if us climbed the mountain to the first and second summit where there were great views to the East. We then followed the loop around the back side of the mountain where we walked along the MA/NH state line, and back to Rt 119. The total trip time was about 2 hours.
