4WD is definitely helpful, but not necessarily needed (depending upon how washed out the (few miles) dirt road is). Low ride vehicles would probably ground out a few times if not careful. Cell Phones Unlikely to Operate (at least mine) - I drive Grey Honda Element.

The trail, if you've ever done it - is one of the jewels of the Coachella Valley and Salton Sea area. Tucked away, rarely approached by the mainstream (its an hour drive from Palm Springs towards NOWHERE).

Clearly the slots are the attraction - and the unique, diverse, rock formations, embedded shells, creatures, etc.

New to us this time, was a second slot canyon, off to the RIGHT of the MAIN WASH. Its further up, than where you take a LEFT to go to the classic 3 hour hike. And its a great addition to create a longer hike, a more interesting hike.

This is why bunches of us go back month after month. Its a unique feature of the Coachella Valley.
