Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at:

Trailhead Meet-Up: Take Westbrook Exit from I-95 [Route 25]. Go west on I-25 for about 30 miles to south on 117 for 2 1/2 miles. The trailhead is located on a sharp corner you can drive right past it. I'll be there before everyone and look for a silver gray Ford Explorer with my plates ATIC.

The other option is to meet at my place prior to 10AM. You can set up your tent/camper before we leave. Contact me for directions for directions to my house.

Trip Report/Photos

We were pleasantly surprised to find that The trails of Sawyer Mtn had been recently maintained with new trail signs and new turtle trail blaze symbals attached to trees.  Since the weather was so good and we were feeling so well, we included a few side trails on the way to the summit, continued past the summit down the other side to the Limerick trailhead and back over the mountain to where we started in Limington. On the way we were rewarded with the the experience of finding unique cabins, historical graveyards and ruins of the old Sawyer homestead which was mainly old stone foundations.  We even found an old Bronco which someone had attemped to drive near the trail and abandoned after getting stuck or broken down.  The overall hike grew from about three miles to over seven which all three of us survived feeling none the worse the wear.  Even 72+ year old Dave held up well.

Afterward, we retired to my place in Limington where I served burgers.  Unfortunately, Ron didn't eat meat and Dave ate lightly, I wound up eating most of the burgers and sharing the rest with the critters who visit my place.  We chilled for a while and ,to the best of my knowledge, all had a good time
