It was a mostly sunny day with the temperature in the mid 20s. The snow was about 16 inches deep and a little sticky. The trails were mostly packed single tracks with a few wide track areas. We gathered together at Jeffrey's house at 11, greeted each other and chatted a bit before carpooling to the park just a few miles up the road. We geared up and hit the trails. One of the guys in the group took a pair of short downhill skies for the trip and insisted he would be fine. To our amazement he mastered the trails with no problems at all. Along the way we did have one casualty. Matthew's ski boot sole fell completely off forcing an end to his trip. Fortunately we were near a snowmobile trail that led back to the parking lot so he and Mike walked back together and waited for the rest of the group to finish the trip. Halfway through we took a brake at a shelter and lit a small fire for ambiance. Alton took his GPS and was able to plot our trip. It was 4.9 miles and took two hours and twenty-two minutes. He also set up the plot at www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=707191 . Thanks for sharing the neat information. After the hike we all went back to Jeffrey's house and had a lasagna dinner. Alton had made a wonderful blueberry tart for desert, too. We socialized a bit than parted for the evening. It was another successful ski trip with GO! W_B
