    • About me: : Looking for backpacking partners for trips of 1+ months. I am not particularly fast and prefer a leisurely pace than looking for big miles, meaning slow starts (10 or so miles/day with progression up from there). Considering SOBO thru hike of the Arizona Trail starting around 10/1/2018 OR a NOBO/FlipFlop on the AT from NY starting around June 16th, after the AIDS/LifeCycle. Would also consider a thru hike of the CT in 2018. In other words, I am looking at a lot of options for 2018. About me (in an attempt to follow the suggested items): I am 58 and married to a great guy who is a fun weekend warrior but not a long distance backpacker. I am 5'9", 168 lbs, buzzed hair (red and grey, full beard that is mostly white with some red tossed in. I am not sure how to describe my spirituality other than to say it works best outside - your basic nature worshiper - I am very live and let live concerning religion and hope others are too. I eat all things besides eggplant and actually love snickers bars and ramen noodles (if you don't backpack you might not get this). I like just about all types of music although I find formulaic top 40 pop and top 40 country to be repetitive and annoying.
    • Favorite Places: : Crater Lake, Grand Canyon, Southwest France, Scotland, the AT, Denali NP, Canadian Rocky Mountains, almost any place in the desert, Oregon beaches, Northern AZ/Vermillion Cliffs area, French Polynesia, Boulder Utah, Canyonlands NP and the other 4 national parks in Utah....
    • Outdoor Experience: : Completed 446 miles of the AT in 2016 but had to go off trail due to a foot injury that required surgery. Lots of road biking experience for my entire adult life. AIDS/LifeCycle 2018 planned.
