About me:
:
Looking for backpacking partners for trips of 1+ months. I am not particularly fast and prefer a leisurely pace than looking for big miles, meaning slow starts (10 - 15 miles/day with progression up from there). Considering SOBO thru hike of the Arizona Trail starting around 09/21/2020 and possible a NOBO of the AT in late Feb/early March starging from Springer Mt., GA Open to other long distance ideas. About me (in an attempt to follow the suggested items): I am 60 and married to a great guy who is a fun weekend warrior but not a long distance backpacker. I like hiking, bicycling, and backpacking.
Favorite Places:
:
Crater Lake, Grand Canyon, Southwest France, Scotland, the AT, Denali NP, Canadian Rocky Mountains, almost any place in the desert, Oregon beaches, Northern AZ/Vermillion Cliffs area, French Polynesia, Boulder Utah, Canyonlands NP and the other 4 national parks in Utah....
Outdoor Experience:
:
Completed 446 miles of the AT in 2016 but had to go off trail due to a foot injury that required surgery. Lots of road biking experience for my entire adult life. Completed AIDS/LifeCycle 2018 and considering the 2021 ALC. Also did the DC AIDS Rides 4 and 5.
