So you could do a week or so between Burgos and Leon, or between Pamplona and Burgos which are mostly flat with a few climbs. Most guides suggest stages of 14 to 18 miles a day but if that seems too much you can break them up into shorter segments with places to stay en route. There are also various services that will carry your bag for you between inns for about $7 a day. You should be able to do it at your own pace! Let me know if you have more specific questions.

Hi Michael, I am just back from a month in Spain doing the Via de la Plata from Mérida to Santiago. My apologies that it's been a while since i've signed in here! I've just posted a definite plan for a Camino hike Oct 5-12 and am awaiting the webmaster's approval so it should go up soon. Start hike up Pinnacle from the upper parking lot say around 6:30. Would need crampons and warm gear for this. Not a hard hike but fun.

I like the idea of night hiking. You might want to consider starting at the lower parking lot. It's winter and the road to the upper lot is rather steep.

I would do it as a day hike. I cannot drive at night. --Frank

The Rangers rerouted the trail around the steep rocky area at the start of the trail. The trail both ways is very well marked with NYS trail markers and it’s easy to find your way in and out.

Great hike have done it many times. Bit steep and rocky washed out road at start but levels off. lean-to usually occupied.
