Thirteen GayOutdoors members gathered in New Hampshire's White Mountains for the 2026 GO Gathering Weekend at Osceola Vista Campground. The weather was perfect: sunny skies, low humidity, temps in the 70’s and cool nights. While members chose a variety of lodging options—including camping and nearby accommodations; some also came up just for day. We all came together to enjoy a weekend filled with outdoor adventure, friendship, and community.
The weekend began Friday evening as members arrived and gathered around a welcoming campfire. It was the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet new members, and settle into a relaxing weekend in the mountains. With the moon nearly full, the campground was bathed in a soft glow that added a little extra magic to the evening.
Saturday offered something for everyone. Eight members hiked Mt. Osceola, enjoying beautiful weather and sweeping summit views. Others explored the area by bicycle along the scenic Baker River Valley, while another group rode the Bretton Woods Gondola for lunch overlooking the magnificent Presidential Range. In the afternoon, a few members cooled off with a refreshing swim at Corcoran Pond.
As enjoyable as the outdoor activities were, Saturday evening was the heart of the weekend. Everyone gathered around the picnic tables for a wonderful potluck dinner, sharing favorite dishes, stories, and plenty of laughter. As darkness settled over the campground, the nearly full moon once again illuminated our group site while the campfire crackled nearby. Conversations flowed easily as old friendships were renewed, new friendships were formed, and everyone enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time together beneath a White Mountain starry sky.
One of the great strengths of GayOutdoors has always been bringing people together through a shared love of the outdoors. Whether members tackled a mountain summit, explored the valley by bike, took in scenic views from the gondola, or simply relaxed around the campsite, the weekend offered opportunities to connect in ways that extend well beyond the trail.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, brought food to share, led activities, and helped make the weekend such a success. We hope even more members will join us next year for another memorable GO Gathering Weekend!
