We had a blustery Fall day on Wildcat, a day that was similar to the same day 25 years ago. After hiking up the Polecat Trail to the top of Wildcat (D), we attempted to hike over to Wildcat C but decided to turn around and hike back the way we came up. The Wildcat Ridge trail, part of the AT, is difficult at best! After having refreshments and the base food truck, we took a ride on the chair lift up and back. I have ridden on many chair lifts up a mountain, but I've never ridden one down. What a great fun to have Mount Washington in front of you on a clear day riding down the mountain. Highly recommended! I brought flags to commemorate 9/11 and we met several hikers who were going up to spend the night and see the lights from Mount Washington that night.

  • A total of 5.5 miles and 2200' of elevation, fantastic day. I'm not sure why the photos are all skewed in the report. - Randy
