Summary

OK, it's actually just a 4-mile long lake in the city with a rep for coliform bacteria, but that's not the important part...

Join us for a fun half day of paddling along one of the most renowned competitive rowing courses in the country. This will be an intentionally relaxed and social day on the water with lots of opportunity for conversation and connection. It's a great opportunity for some of our newbies who signed up at one of the regional Pride events to meet some of the guys and dip your toe in the Gay Outdoors community. No long car ride or serious physical challenge, but there are sure to be plenty of laughs and camaraderie.

The plan is to paddle the approximately 4-mile round-trip to the lake's southern end, possibly pulling over for ice cream along the way. We will begin our journey from Regatta Point Park, where kayaks and paddle boards are available for rental. There's even a yellow Duckie paddle boat in case anyone wants to be super-cute! If you will be bringing your own vessel you can put in at the park's beach area. Rental rates for our 3-hour paddle are:

Single kayak - $44
Tandem kayak - $60
Paddle board - $52

Rates do not include tax. Parking is available at the park for $8 per day for MA residents or a whopping $30 for non-residents. Carpooling is recommended, especially if you're coming from out of state.

If group conscience dictates, we can gather at one of the many eateries along Worcester's nearby Restaurant Row after drying off and returning our boats.

We will meet at the park at 10:00 AM sharp by the rental dock. Regatta Point Park is located at:

10 N Lake Avenue
Worcester, MA 01605

Park info can be found at:

Hope to see you on the water!
