Summary

Come for a weekend getaway to Umbagog Lake State Park, one of New Hampshire’s most scenic and peaceful state parks. Located on the southern shore of Umbagog Lake and bordering the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge, the park offers wide-open water access, excellent paddling, and outstanding wildlife viewing. The lake’s calm bays and open stretches make it ideal for paddleboarding, canoeing, and kayaking.

Come for the day or stay for the whole weekend. You can camp, paddle, swim, hike, wildlife watch, or simply unplug.

I’ll be out on the water paddleboarding throughout the weekend and will offer an introduction to paddleboarding on Saturday.

Bring your own gear or a SUP, canoe, or kayak if you prefer. Canoe and kayak rentals may be available through the park, call ahead to confirm.

Geography:

Umbagog Lake State Park is located in northern New Hampshire along Route 26 in Errol, adjacent to the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge. The park is also known for exceptionally dark night skies, making it a great spot for stargazing.

Facilities:

The park offers a campground, beach area for swimming, public boat launch, marina, park store, restrooms, and a visitor center. The campground is pet-friendly and supports both day use and overnight stays.

Directions Corrections: It is Exit 40 in Littleton and NOT exit 35! Big thanks to @sedonahikerman for catching that error and letting me know!

Yes, the pics are from Umbagog Lake.
