Summary
Main features include: Barn Door Hills, grass fields, Bissell Brook, Salmon Brook, Trout Pond and Trout Pond Cabin. Pack water and munchies. McLean Game Refuge was created by the will of Senator George McLean in 1932 “as a place where some of the things God made may be seen by those who love them, as I loved them, and who may find in them the peace of mind and body that I have found." For years, the park was tended by Amos E. George, a Pequot and long time friend of Sen. McLean designated in his will to be watchman for the preserve. The 4400 acre preserve is a private park maintained by the McLean Fund.

At the main entrance is a parking area for 20 cars or so.  Wait for me at the parking area.  I drive a blue Volvo XC70 Ocean Race.
