About me:
:
I love the outdoors and my preferred way to see it all is in a kayak or on backcountry skis. I try to stay in good physical shape, e.g., exercises, lots of work on my woodlot, etc. I am a teacher by nature and profession and love to introduce new people to the activities that I know well. I just love being in the woods or on the beach and listening to the quiet - instead of a radio.
Favorite Places:
:
Ogunquit: sandy beach, Marginal Way, the river, and the cliffs. The nude beach in Ptown, anyplace on The Maine Island Trail, Stonington-Penobscot Bay, Cobscook Bay State Park Campground, Jackson NH Ski Touring Ctr, my woods and fields.
Outdoor Experience:
:
I am rated Class 4 whitewater but haven't done whitewater in years - miss it. With the sea kayak, I do wear a spray skirt all of the time and I do not have a rudder on my boat. I backcountry ski without metal edges - no telemark but stem Christie. When I ski, I rarely fall, (but when going down steep terrain, I look like I am "driving a bus while trying to hold a beach ball between my legs". I use figure skates but I love to play outdoor no-check hockey with them.
