Join new friends for a relaxed Labor Day Weekend built around live folk and blues music in the heart of rural Vermont.
We’ll camp together at Coolidge State Park, a small, walkable campground where it’s easy for the group to find one another throughout the weekend. The music takes place outdoors at the nearby President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site, and the festival is small and relaxed enough that we can sit together as a group by simply bringing our camp chairs and settling in together. We’ll head over as a group or in carpools for the afternoon music sessions and return to camp afterward, keeping the focus on shared time, easy connection, and a comfortable, low-key group experience. Concerts take place at the Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site, set among open fields and historic buildings at the birthplace of the 30th U.S. President. Music typically runs Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The 2026 lineup has not yet been announced, but past years have featured standout Vermont artists alongside internationally known musicians. All concerts are free, with cash donations encouraged to support the performers. Attendees are also invited to bring unexpired non-perishable food donations for the Vermont Foodbank.
Each participant is responsible for making their own campsite reservation. Camp out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at nearby Coolidge State Park, just a couple of miles from the music venue. This makes it easy to enjoy the afternoon performances and return to camp for relaxed evenings and unstructured time together.
We’ll plan informal meet-ups at camp each morning and gather again in the late afternoon and evening for shared meals and campfire time. Coolidge State Park feels like a step back in time, remaining much as it was when first created in the 1930s. The campground has a rustic, low-key feel with forested loops and hillside campsites that open up to mountain views. There are 36 lean-to sites and 26 tent and RV sites arranged across two camping loops. The park has four restrooms with flush toilets and hot water, with two buildings offering token-operated hot showers.
When the music isn’t playing, there’s plenty to enjoy right at the park. Miles of hiking trails wind through the forest, several streams are home to brook trout, and wildlife sightings are common. Time between sets can be spent hiking, relaxing at camp, or enjoying simple activities like horseshoes.
As of January 15, there is still Labor Day Weekend availability, including 21 lean-to sites, 7 tent sites, and 8 RV sites.
Come for one night or stay the whole weekend for an easygoing mix of live music, classic Vermont camping, and shared outdoor time.

Directions to Plymouth Notch and Coolidge State Park
The music takes place at the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. Camping is at nearby Coolidge State Park, located a short drive from the historic site.
From Interstate 89 Take Exit 1 for U.S. Route 4 toward Woodstock and Rutland. Follow U.S. Route 4 for approximately 18.7 miles through Woodstock and Bridgewater. Turn left onto VT Route 100A. Plymouth Notch is about 6 miles south on VT 100A. Continue past Plymouth Notch to reach Coolidge State Park.
From Interstate 91 Take Exit 8 and follow VT Route 131 west for approximately 19 miles to Ludlow. Turn right onto VT Route 100 and continue north for about 11 miles. Turn right onto VT Route 100A. Plymouth Notch is approximately 1 mile north. Continue along VT Route 100A to reach Coolidge State Park.
From Rutland or western Vermont Follow U.S. Route 4 east out of Rutland for approximately 23 miles to its junction with VT Route 100A. Turn right onto VT Route 100A. Plymouth Notch is about 6 miles south. Continue past the village to reach Coolidge State Park.
