Summary

Join us for a summer weekend of camping, canoeing, swimming, campfires and camaraderie on Squam Lake in Holderness, NH.  This trip requires previous paddling or kayaking experience.  The site is on an island requiring transport of participants and gear by canoe or kayak. We will plan a strenuous day on the water on Saturday!

We have reserved Bowman 4 for 12 people on Bowman Island. Bowman Island is a 23-acre island located across a narrow channel from Moon Island. There is a dock and small beach at the northwest end of the island and a dock at the southeast side of the island, providing access to our group site (# 4). We are required to use the site’s 3 wooden, raised platforms to prevent damage to the ground, so we will try to coordinate tents between us.  Each site has a fire ring, no grates, and nearby composting toilet.

The Squam Lakes Association rents canoes and kayaks to the public at the SLA Resource Center on Route 3 in Holderness, NH.  Participants should reach out to partner for shared canoe rentals, tents and other shared gear.  Boat reservations in advance are suggested.  Anyone planning to kayak should be aware of limitations of space for overnight camping gear.

Information can be found at http://www.squamlakes.org/natural-areas-trails-and-recreation/boat-rentals.

Shared costs for the site will be $25/person for Friday through Sunday and must be remitted upon signup to get a spot. Details for the payment will follow by email. Parking, canoe rental, food, etc. are not included.

We are bringing a small boxed wine for the evening and a 6 pack of beer [to be placed in a tiny cooler] for paddling on Saturday.

Are you guys planning evening cocktails?

Sorry: "HONY". Canoe to be rented, I do not own one.

Seeking consenting adult to share his bigger tent (mine for two and a bit too cozy) and a good canoe. I am getting good at massage, Homi soit qui mal y pense. Luciano
