The hike started by us meeting at Cascais train station. We then passed through the pretty seaside town to the sea, while observing the Ironman runners who were also passing at the same time! Once at the seafront we headed out along the seafront, passing the picturesque Casa de Santa Marta before heading out to the Atlantic coast.
We then headed along the windy coast towards the surf beach of Guincho. From here the hike turned inland, passing through the dunes. We had a leisurely lunch at the Páteo de Guincho restaurant about half-way with some Portuguese sangria and plenty of time to chat and get to know each other.
after the lunch we headed back via the inland before ending up again in the picturesque Cascais.

Overall it was an easy walk along roads with only fairly little elevation gain. But it was a great way to escape the city and see some of the breathtaking Portuguese Atlantic coast.
