Climbing Peak 10,941, Boulder Mountains

Featured Photo Peak 10,941 deserves a proper name. An elegant pyramid accessed by a knife-edge ridge, it is among my favorite winter climbs. It was an unsettled day to be out, and the expansive views typical of the Boulder Front were replaced by occasional breaks in the billowing snowfall that revealed hints of the chiseled crags and vast empty spaces that flank the summit ridge. The snowpack was a little twitchy, so I had to dig a couple test pits to ensure the avalanche god was sleeping. It was well after dark when I got back to my truck - all in all, a fine day in the mountains.
