Madison, Adams, Jefferson, Clay, Washington, Monroe, Franklin, Eisenhower and Pierce. We will climb them all in one day.
This is a strenuous hike and should take about 12-15 hours to complete depending on the speed and energy of the participants. The minimal traverse is 21 miles with approximately 8,500 feet of elevation gain.
I have done this hike many times so have the logistics down solid. I will have a campsite at Dolly Copp. If more people sign up than can stay at a single campsite, I will reserve another. We will shuttle cars on Friday night (June 10) to the end of the trail at the Crawford Notch Trailhead. We will start from the Pine Link Trailhead on June 11.
A 4:00 am start should get us to the finish by nightfall.
You will need at least 2 quarts of water, warm weather gear, sturdy boots, rain gear and headlamp.
We can discuss additional details as the hike get's closer.

If you are not camping out overnight, meet at the Pine Link Trailhead - this hike is one-way. North to South. Shuttling cars at the end - or getting picked up by a support crew.

As I sit this morning in front of my WOOD STOVE here in Fairlee Vermont drinking some coffee and reading about the rescue a few days ago from Mount Washington (http://www.wmur.com/news/injured-hiker-rescued-from-mount-washington-during-extreme-conditions/39970194) I thought it would be prudent to remind folks that summer HAS NOT arrived above treeline in the White Mountains!
Hi Scott... Thanks for chatting... Let's hope for a big blue sky... this will be lots of a fun and a terrific time!! I read Stephen & Martin's trip post and they had a brilliant time traversing - let us carry on the challenge in good spirits!!
