Summary

Relatively easy hike to Sawyer Mountain [1100'] with nice views of the area.

This remote area is one of the few remaining places where a hiker can still get lost yet be so close to civilization. If the group is willing we will also visit the gorge of unique rock formations with sheef cliffs and a cascading waterfall.

Distance: The hike is 2.6 miles and more if we do hike the Gorge and Waterfall.

Time: 3 hours book time with another 1.5 if we go to the Gorge.

Elevation Gain: 600 feet

This is a dog-friendly hike.

Carpooling: Contact other members to carpool, share the conversation and travel expenses.

Cell Phone #: Will be provided to participants in an email.

After The Hike: We'll can have a BBQ back at my house so bring a change of clothes.

Campting Option: Everyone is welcome to tent or bring a small camper in my backyard for Saturday night. There is no plumbing and running water but I do have a composting toilet. Contact me to RSVP. .

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

Trailhead Meet-Up: Take Westbrook Exit from I-95 [Route 25]. Go west on I-25 for about 30 miles to south on 117 for 2 1/2 miles. The trailhead is located on a sharp corner you can drive right past it. I'll be there before everyone and look for a silver gray Ford Explorer with my plates ATIC.

The other option is to meet at my place prior to 10AM. You can set up your tent/camper before we leave. Contact me for directions for directions to my house.
