I like hunting and sure would be nice to put in for some elk tags out here in UT, WY, or another state with a guy. Anyone interested?

Sounds interesting.  Would love to head down south for some hunting.  Not much of a deer hunter, any chance for quail or other upland birds?

Wow, its great to see other gay men that love hunting. We have not met many other gay hunters over the years. We live in western Wyoming and hunt Wyoming and apply for tags in Montana and pheasant hunt in South Dakota every year. If any one is comming out west to hunt in Wyoming or Montana we can help give you some ideas were to go.

I'm in Rhode Island, and hunt waterfowl and upland game locally and in Maine...would like meeting some like-minded guys nearby or  interested in coming here.  Fly fishing and salt water fishing just around the corner.  Feel free to get in touch.

Back when the site first started you could Hunting as one of your areas of interest. So few took advantage of it, the ion disappeared. I'm glad to see the topic being revived, we are a rare breed.

I do a lot of hunting in central and northeastern Connecticut for everything that is in season.

I'm in the market for a good hunting lab. A black or chocolate male if anyone knows of a litter locally let me know.

Hunting season is over here in South Texas, but we live on 80 acres and you could shoot a deer off our porch. Deer are smaller here, but plentiful. Hollar at us for next season!

Drink a beer and bag a buck ... I love it.  When's deer season start?  I hear doves are quick a big deal in South Texas too.

hey, if there is anyone interested in hunting in the virginia-west virginia area, we have great deer hunting in and around my farm near warm springs.  theoretically, we only hunt during the season but we have several times gotten permits for off season kills if there are too many deer and they are eating plants, etc..

Howdy guys,  nice to come across the messages.  I now live and hunt elk here in UT.  Haven't received any moose or turkey tags for UT yet.  I have hunted WY and CO for elk, and having grown up in the PA woods I hunted white tails, turkey and small game for a many years.  Anyhoo, I'm serious about finding a hunting buddy and looking forward to chatting and eventually getting out in the woods.

Does any one know of any gay freindly guiding services in Alaska, or are there any gay hunters from Alaska that could give us some pointers on how to apply  and where to hunt moose and karibou. We would like to plan a trip next year.

Why don't you try OutinAlaska.com? They are gay and financially support GayOutdoors. They have a rotating banner at the top of the site.

Awesome links CJ.  It was like I was reading a Gray's,  Double Gun, or Shooting Sportsman photo essay.  Awesome locations, beautiful dogs, interesting double guns....I could go on and on.

I shoot mostly waterfowl and upland through-out New England, New York,  and South Carolina.  I haven't been 'out west' yet for birds but your pix and writing are getting me motivated!

You've also inspired me to take more pictures.

Too bad I didn't see any spaniels among the dogs you shoot over.  But I've been told some of those pointing breeds know how to hunt.  ;-)

What breed is your dog? Wirehair?

Keep it up, I'll look forward to your future postings.

Joe

Glad you liked them and thanks for the nice comments.

The one pup is a wirehair and the other a tri-colored gordon setter.

This a great time of the year, Bow season is open and we are preparing for a week long back country rifle mule deer hunt starting next week end. We are hunting the Wyoming range in Wyoming.  If anyone is comming hunting in Wyoming this year drop us a line we would love to visit and tell some stories.

Here are a couple of links in regards to upland hunting, my most recent shenanigans:

Year of the Sage Grouse, Act One:

P.S.  Dear Gandolf, in your wisdom, could you find some way to allow us to post up actual pics on this forum?  I mean fer golly gosh sakes, being the white wizard and all, I figure you could hook a brutha up?  That way I don't have to post links to these endevours...I can post 'em here!

Sure you don't want peepies and weeweeies posted here, its an outdoors site after all; but thats what moderators are for!

Respectfully,

CJ
