Just wondering if there are any members in South Carolina, North Carolina or the surrounding area that would be interested in flatwater kayaking trips. My partner and I own two kayaks and get out on the water as much as we can. I wouldn't mind heading up a group if there was enough interest. We live in Greenville, SC.

If anyone is interested send me a message on here,  or leave a comment and if I see enough response I would get together a day trip.

I'm not sure if you're still interested, but I'm a rabid kayaker located in Central Georgia.  I'm willing to meet half-way for day trips, overnighters, and multi-day excursions.  I'm active with the Georgia Wilderness Society, and I've heard S.C. has some great rivers and swamps.  Always ready to go!

If it's close to florida I'd be interested.

Hey Rob,

We are ready to get back out on the water. Just waiting until lt warms up a bit. We do not own any cold water gear for kayaking.

I have heard of the Wilderness group from Georgia. Do they go kayaking a good bit?

Jason:  Yes, we have a full schedule of float, hike and bike trips at www.georgiawildernesssociety.org  In addition I go very often summer and winter with a gay friendly partner on a "pick-up" basis depending upon schedule and weather.  We don't go when it's terribly cold, and I don't use specialized winter wear like drysuits, etc. I find the peace like a balm for my soul.  Let's keep talking and see if we can get together!

Jason:

I recently discovered an Atlanta based group, Wilderness Network of Georgia. (Sounds like Ga. Wilderness Society!) They've got a lot of really interesting float trips including one I'm requesting going on: a 3 day trip to the Suwanee . . . should be beautiful!  Another two trips to the Okefenokee in April.  Check it out: www.wildnetga.org
