SUMMARY:
The GayOutdoors Programs & Outdoor Activities Committee is excited to host our **first-ever GO Lodging Weekend** in beautiful Ogunquit, Maine! Known as one of New England's most welcoming LGBTQ+ destinations, Ogunquit offers spectacular ocean scenery, beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants, charming shops, and a vibrant nightlife. During peak fall foliage, it's the perfect place to enjoy the best of both the mountains and the Maine coast. Unlike a traditional GayOutdoors event with scheduled activities throughout the day, this weekend is designed as a relaxed community getaway. Think of it as a welcoming basecamp where members can connect, explore together, or simply enjoy the coast at their own pace. Whether you're attending your first GayOutdoors event or reconnecting with old friends, GO Lodging Weekends are a wonderful opportunity to experience what GayOutdoors is all about: **Adventure • Community • Pride • Stewardship** **Optional Weekend Activities** Choose as much—or as little—as you'd like to do. • Hike Mount Agamenticus for panoramic coastal views • Walk the spectacular Marginal Way • Browse the shops, galleries, and cafés of Perkins Cove and downtown Ogunquit • Enjoy leisurely beach walks • Share group dinners • Relax around the outdoor fire pit • Unwind in the outdoor hot tub • Experience Ogunquit's famous LGBTQ+ nightlife ________________________________________ **Lodging** **The Admiral's Inn** will serve as our weekend basecamp. The inn offers: • Comfortable guest rooms • Continental breakfast • Outdoor hot tub • Fire pit • Easy walk to downtown Ogunquit and the Marginal Way Average room rates are approximately **$209 per night.** Rooms with two queen beds are available for those wishing to share accommodations and reduce costs. Reserve directly with the hotel: **The Admiral's Inn** https://theadmiralsinn.com/ Participants are welcome to stay elsewhere if they prefer and still join all weekend activities. ________________________________________ **Weekend Schedule** **Friday** Arrival & Check-in 5:00 PM – Relax by the hot tub and meet fellow members **6:30 PM – Welcome Dinner at That Place in Ogunquit. To be included in our group reservation, please contact Mike by Wednesday, October 14.** ________________________________________ **Saturday** **10:00 AM – Mount Agamenticus Hike** We'll meet in the hotel lobby before driving to Mount Agamenticus. This scenic 2.3-mile loop gains approximately 331 feet and rewards hikers with sweeping views of the Maine coastline and surrounding mountains. On exceptionally clear days, it's even possible to see Mount Washington. Lunch: We'll decide as a group. **1:15 PM – Marginal Way & Perkins Cove** Enjoy one of New England's most scenic coastal walks. The 2.5-mile round-trip Marginal Way follows the rocky Atlantic shoreline past tidal pools, dramatic cliffs, sea roses, and breathtaking ocean vistas before arriving at picturesque Perkins Cove. The path is paved, relatively flat, and suitable for nearly everyone. If time allows, we can browse downtown Ogunquit's shops, galleries, cafés, and waterfront. **4:00 PM – Relax at the Hotel** Enjoy the outdoor hot tub, fire pit, or simply unwind before dinner. **6:30 PM – Dinner at The Front Porch. To be included in the reservation, please contact Mike by Thursday, October 15.** **Saturday Evening** After dinner, choose your own adventure: • Visit Maine Street, Ogunquit's popular LGBTQ+ nightclub • Enjoy an evening stroll through town • Walk Ogunquit Beach beneath the stars • Relax in the hot tub with friends • Sit around the fire pit and enjoy good conversation Whether you're looking for nightlife, quiet relaxation, or meaningful conversation, Saturday evening is all about enjoying time together. ________________________________________ **Sunday** • Optional morning beach walk • Breakfast • Farewells and departures ________________________________________ **Dining RSVP** We'll make advance reservations for Friday and Saturday dinners (and an optional Sunday brunch if there's enough interest).
