SUMMARY:

Lake Placid and the Adirondacks are calling to us! If you have interest in spending a week exploring, hiking, and sightseeing the spectacular Adirondacks at the start of fall foliage, then please sign up for this Lake Placid Excursion. Jon and I are 46ers [hiked all the 4,000 footers in the Adirondacks] and very familiar with the region.

We are renting this cottage for week. This is not a “tenting” trip – the cottage is first class. It has everything to make your stay spectacular! We check in on Tuesday September 11th and check out Tuesday morning, September 18th. The cottage is 3400 square feet of spacious comfort on 15 acres of secluded, peaceful, mountainside in the heart of the High Peaks Region, Keene Valley, NY. Lake Placid is about 30 minutes away.

The outside features a spectacular wrap-around deck, wood fire pit, sassafras rocking chairs, and comfortable deck furniture surrounding a gas fire pit, gas grill and spacious yard with plenty of yard games to be played. The house features 4 bedrooms (plus semi-private bonus room) and 3.5 bathrooms. The cottage has linen, blankets and towels.

The open floor plan includes a very generous kitchen, including all granite counter tops, a breakfast bar with 4 aspen-wood chairs, and stainless steel appliances (including a 4 burner stove, oven and microwave, dishwasher, large refrigerator). Verizon has the only cell phone coverage and can be utilized in most of the home and deck. This home has a cell phone extender, WiFi and satellite internet.

We have two spots remaining which is a private queen bed for a couple or if you are single, taking one of the two twin beds in the same bedroom. If you would like to carpool, you can make arrangements with one of the participants.

We each will take turns buying groceries and cooking a group dinner each night; using a team of two. We’ll coordinate what everyone will be cooking so we don’t have the same meal every night at a later date. Everyone is responsible to buy their own groceries for breakfast and packed lunches for hikes. Groceries can be purchased in the nearby towns.

Since we’ll be hiking, you will need to bring what you would normally have on a day hike such as pack, water bottles, non-cotton clothing, rain shell, warm hat/gloves, warm insulating layers [it’s September], lunch, snacks and hiking boots. We'll determine which hikes to do based on the group wishes at a later date.

It will only be $310 per person to use this cottage for the week! Add the cost of groceries and the total cost should be well within the range of $400 per person. Once I see your RSVP, I will email you with payment instructions.  Your space will not be reserved until I receive your check. If there is a waiting list, I’ll give you one week to mail me a check for $310; otherwise you will lose your space.
