SUMMARY: We'll ascend via the Boott Spur Trail and descend via the Tuckerman Ravine Trail. Difficulty: 10.8 miles, about 4,300 Feet total vertical climb. At a 1.25 mile / hour average pace this is about an 8 hour hike. THIS IS NOT A DOG FRIENDLY HIKE. WEATHER AND OTHER SUDDEN EVENTS CAN CAUSE SUDDEN CHANGES TO OR CANCELLATION OF THIS EVENT. YOU MUST CHECK BACK TO THE GAY OUTDOORS OFTEN FOR ANY CHANGES. TO BRING: Flash light OR head lamp, food/lunch/snacks and at least liters of water, first aid items. Wear multiple layers of synthetic materials for warmth; including gloves and wool hat. Don't forget rain gear. NOTE: You are responsible for bringing appropriate gear, supplies, clothing, first aid and headlamp. You should review trail map and trail features carefully; understanding topography of any difficult hike is key to your knowing where you are, where you're going and how to get back. After The Hike: Bring a change of clothing and we'll have dinner together at the Red Fox Bar and Grill in nearby Jackson, NH. Lodging Option: We have 8 bunks available at our house near Waterville Valley, NH for Friday and Saturday night for $20 per night. Coffee/bagels each morning and linen/blankets/towels are provided. We have limited space in the fridge to store your beverages/food so it's best to bring a small cooler. Space is limited so email us ASAP to reserve a bunk! |

Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at: From North Conway, follow New Hampshire Route 16 north through the towns of Glen and Jackson. Park at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, 11.7 miles north of the junction of U.S. Highway 302 and Route 16 in Glen, NH. We'll meet you at the front porch of the visitor center. |
