The hike took place on the Florida Trail in the Bull Creek WMA as planned but, was only 11.2 miles in length.  The weather was near perfect, starting with a cool morning in the low 60's and creeping up to the mid 70's. We had one very light sprinkle.

The trail was mostly high and dry, although we did have to leave the trail a couple of times as the trail was flooded. We hiked through palm and cypress wetlands and high and dry pine forests with lots of palmetto underbrush. This Wildlife Mangement Area had numerous stands of oak also.

It was small game hunting season, and we did see several hunters in the distance. They stayed close to their vehicles on the forest roads and we were away from them on the hiking trail.  We managed to see two turkeys and one large black male hog. We also flushed two covey of quail on the hike.

We only saw one other hiker during the day.

One other hiker joined me for the day, from another site.
