Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at:

We will be meeting at the Hardee's restaurant in Chatsworth, Georgia, which is located at the corner of US 411 and US 76. The address for the Hardee's is 1099 North 3rd Avenue, Chatsworth, Ga. 30705.

Plan to be there earlier. We will be leaving the Hardee's at 10:00 AM sharp for the trail head.

The trail head is abut 23 miles from the restaurant (to the northeast), and will have about 10 miles of Forest Road.

Trip Report/Photos

The forest service road to the trailhead was closed 11 miles from the trailhead. So, we backtracked and hiked 9.7 miles on the Emery Creek Trail. This trail followed the creek during the first portion on the hike and featured some boulder hopping. There were numerous creek crossings on the hike. The Emery Creek Falls was also visited on this hike. It had some nice swimming holes, where we found a family with young children enjoying the pools.

Of course I found the proverbial slippery rock on the first creek crossing and had wet feet within the first 15 minutes of the hike.
