The hike traveled alont the western edge of the Withlacoochee State Forest (Citrus Tract) in Citrus County. The weather was cool in the morning, but after about two miles the temperature went up and the clothes started to be shed.

The hike was high and dry and traveled through upland pine, Florida scrub and oak groves. We say three caves and only one other solitary hiker. The weather was great, as the temperrature stayed in the low 70's for the day
