For daytrippers, please get yourselves to Point Judith/Galilee RI by 8:30AM in time to park your car and get tix for the 9AM departure ferry to Block Island.  We'll meet in a small park to the right above the Old Harbor loading area after the boat docks.  I'll have a pride flag draped from my bicycle.  For those weekenders already on the island please meet us at this spot by 10:30AM.  We'll then go get lunches and head out on our adventure.

While the coastline was shrouded in fog all day Friday and into the evening as we all arrived for our Block Island weekend, Saturday dawned bright and breezy and proved to be a perfect day for our 15 mile circuit around this lovely island 12 miles off the Rhode Island coast.  7 enthusiastic members rode first to North Lighthouse (which was open after a 2-year restoration)  and sat on the adjoining sandy beach in the warm sun and breeze of midday.  We then returned to New Harbor for lunch and continued on the southern loop with a stop at Mohegan Bluffs and the Southeast Lighthouse.  On Sunday I led a 3 mile hike along the varied trails of the Greenway, established by the Block Island Conservancy, including a beautiful rest stop at Black Rock beach.  Another perfect day - and great company - to complete the weekend.  Photo courtesy of Van Pattee.
