We will meet at the front porch of the AMC's Pinkham Notch Visitor Center.  Pinkham Notch is right on NH's Route 16, between Gorham and Bartlett.  There are many ways to get there, but the easiest route from I-93 is as follows:  Take exit 35 (the first exit north of the Franconia Notch Parkway) and follow Rt. 3 to Twin Mountain.  At the junction with Rt. 302 (traffic light) continue forward on Rt. 3, and in a couple of miles turn right onto Rt. 115.  Follow this road to Rt. 2 in Jefferson, then go east on Rt. 2 to Gorham.  Go through the town and at the eastern end of it, turn right (south) onto Rt. 16.  You will see the AMC Center on your right about a mile after passing the Wildcat Ski area and the Mt. Washington Auto Road.

What Members Are Saying About This Trip/Event

  • Carlos, thanks for the interesting, exhilarating trip. After more thought, I believe I would like to do this hike again - in dry weather of course. - markus24
  • This hike required strength in your arms as much as your legs along with the ability to clearly focus on the task at hand. NOT FOR THE UNCERTAIN HIKER! The ultimate way to forget your thoughts and live for the moment. Would I do it again? Yes. Thanks Carlos for hosting this insanely awesome trip! - WalkaboutBrian
