Possible GO Gathering Ogunquit Weekend
Region: New England Activity Type: Weekend Trip Place: Ogunquit, ME
I’m exploring the idea of organizing a relaxed GayOutdoors weekend getaway this fall in the Ogunquit / Wells, Maine area and wanted to gauge interest from members before moving forward. This time we will not be camping; staying at a base motel.
The vision would be a flexible community-focused weekend with optional activities such as: • Scenic coastal walks & easy hikes • Beach time • Biking opportunities • Group dinners / social time • Exploring local shops & cafés • Relaxing by the ocean with fellow GO members
The goal would be less about structured programming and more about creating a fun, welcoming basecamp for people to connect, explore, and enjoy the Maine coast together.
Tentatively looking at: Late August or October Ogunquit / Wells area, Maine
At this stage, I’m simply trying to determine: • How much interest there is • Preferred timing • Budget comfort levels for lodging • Whether members would prefer motels, cottages, inns, etc.

What a great idea! My preference would be October. I think August may be more touristy than October, and the town may be a bit more intimate then. The downside is that the water will be too cold for swimming. Wait, what I am saying?! This is Maine, the water will be way too cold for swimming even in August.
Sounds wonderful. I'm for October as well. No Lodging preference although an local inn would certainly add to the trip.

My vote is for October. I will be in northern NH in September for 2 weeks so October gets my vote. I love the Wells Beach/Ogunquit area. Leef peepers in the area in October might mean some crowds though.
I like the idea. I’m OK with either late August or October. An inn would be nice but open to any kind of lodging.

I live in Ogunquit. I think it would be great to have you guys in town. I will be away parts of August and likely part of October, but will hopefully be around if and when this event happens.
This is a wonderful idea. I love how this could be a community-focused weekend for members. I'm in for October as well. I think a local Inn or small hotel would add a lot to the trip.
