Hiking and camping In or around NY?
Region: New York Activity Type: Hiking/Walk Place: Lake placid , NY
Looking to see the interest on a hike and/or camping in the NY- Adirondack region.
I’m upstate NY and always looking for hiking buddies. I tend to avoid the High Peaks because of the crowds and parking issues. Mainly hike in the central Adirondacks and Catskills. My trail hiking pace with a 15 pound backpack is 2 mph over moderate trails. I’m an experienced backpacker. Nice to see someone planning Adirondack hikes being it is the largest park (>6 million acres) in the contiguous United States.
