Perfect winter weather! Five of us hiked up the well broken 19 mile brook trail to Carter Notch Hut. We stopped for a snack and to warm up by the fire (thanks Caretaker Zoe!). 2 chose to remain at the hut and hike down while 3 switched from microspikes to snow shoes to proceed up Wildcat A. It was very snowy and very steep! Due to some persistently numb feet we made the call not to continue along the ridge but to return to the hut to warm up and have lunch before descending 19 mile brook trail again. By the afternoon it was a perfectly clear day with stunning views of the Carters from the lookout on Wildcat A, and beautiful golden light illuminating the Northern Presidentials through the trees as we hiked out along the brook. Wonderful day to be out, and thanks to Bobcat for hosting several of us!
