Five of us enjoyed a perfect day on a little traveled section (we saw no one after the first mile or so) of the Caney Fork River in the Cookeville / Gordonsville, TN area. It was overcast when we embarked, and as you can see for the first few minutes there was an etherial mist on the river. Gradually the cloud cover lifted and we enjoyed a "postcard" mostly sunny sky with picturesque clouds.

There was gentle flow and we took it very easy, siting numerous Blue Herons (getting fairly close at times) and other wildlife. The banks were dotted with wildflowers in places. The water on this section was very cold, but several of us took a dip or two.
