We actually arrived at Big Meadows Campground on Wednesday afternoon to get a good campsite and we did.  It was 25F cooler at the campsite than at home and the air much dryer so it felt like another world.

We were able to get one of the largest sites with plenty of grass and space on either side and at the end of a row so no neighbors on one side (other than a bear visiting one morning looking for food).  It rained a good bit Thursday afternoon while we were away at the time we would have been setting up camp had we arrived on Thursday so that was a good bit of luck.  The weather while we camped was very nice.  The nights were cool without being cold (mid-50's) and the days were in the mid-to-upper 70's.
