Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at:

We will meet by the posted information sign at the Visitor Center's parking lot.  It is very easy to get there from I-95.  Whether coming from north or south, get off at exit 87B and go west on Indiantown Road (SR 706), past the Florida Turnpike for 1.6 miles.  The entrance to the Park will be on your left.  If you are coming down the Turnpike, take the Indiantown Road exit and do as above.

Let me know if you'd like to carpool from my home in Lake Worth.

Overcast skies, and a chance of rain did not deter a group of eight Florida Gay Outdoors members to hike the trails of Jupiter's Riverbend Park.  The group was lucky, as no rain fell, and the overcast skies made for a pleasant shady walk.  The hike took us through a restored "pioneer" homestead, complete with a functioning restored sawmill.  This being Florida, the date on the sawmill plaque placed its origin in the 1930's!  A bit further down the trail, we encountered a restored Seminole village which predated the pioneer homestead by over a century.  Somewhere along the hike someone mentioned how he liked "glamping," and whether that influenced us or not, at the end of the hike we all decided to go have a late lunch at the wonderful Guanabana's waterfront restaurant near the Jupiter Inlet.  The food was exquisite, as was the apres hike camaraderie.
