Twelve degree start but the promise of sunshine and no wind made this a great choice. Powder snow ranging from an inch at the trailhead to around 6” on the ridge. Nice steady trek to the ridge, good snowy conditions to even out a lot of the trail. Wore spikes start to finish. Overall an amazing day out on the ridge. The summit was amazing! Excellent crystal clear views, no wind, bright sun and bluebird skies. Views over Franconia Range, Mt. Garfield, Twins, Presidentials in the distance, Bonds and Mt. Flume. Perfectly clear, blue skies overhead. It is full blown winter up higher in the Whites and it’s time to start thinking about carrying snowshoes. Great day to get out for a hike!

Absolutely love image #62. Like black and white photos. Looking at all the photos makes me want to take up winter hiking. Need to get lots of gear for that!! LOL

Those views are postcard worthy! Looking forward to the winter Whites.
