Summary

Join us for a great hiking experience in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We will hike the iconic Franconia Ridge- featuring waterfalls, and amazing above treeline views in the Alpine Zone. The hike is about 9 miles and ascends about 4000 feet. The hike will take about 8 hours. We will ascend up the Falling Waters Trail, traverse along the Franconia Ridge over Little Haystack Mt, Mt. Lincoln, and Mt. Lafayette. After enjoying lunch, we will descend on the Bridle Path Trail to the Greenleaf Hut where you can refill your water bottles & then continue back to our starting point. Hikers are welcome to stay over at my house 15 minutes from the trailhead on Friday & Saturday nights. There is plenty of room at the house and also camping is available on the property. We will have a potluck after the hike. Enjoy a hot shower after the hike, jump in the private pond, and enjoy the view of the ridge you just hiked from the deck.

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

The parking lot at the Trailhead will be full at 830AM so we will carpool over to the trailhead from my house (15 minutes from the trailhead) or the Parking Lot at the Tram Exit 34B at 8-815AM.
Please email me for directions to the house or Tram Parking Lot if needed. Hikers staying over on Friday night at the house can spot cars at the trailhead parking lot on Friday evening so their car will be available at the trailhead when they finish their hike.

Hi Bob, Do you really plan on a 8-hour hike? I am looking forward to it.

Hi Carl: Thanks for the update! No need to stop at thr trailhead on the way up. See you tomorrow. Bob

Carl Posted Jul 9, 2026 at 9:51 PM

Hi Bob. Emerson (Costa) and Sílvio will be staying over in Friday and Saturday too, if that's okay. I will have four in my car (Craig, Olavo, and Emerson). We won't get there until 9pm or so, but we can meet you/someone at the trailhead if you need a third car parked there.
