Summary

Join GayOutdoors for a fall walk through history at Minute Man National Park.  Two hundred fifty years ago, this was the site of the opening shots of the Revolutionary War.  The path follows the route the British troops took towards Concord to seize military supplies and ammunition, and the counteractions by the colonists to repulse their advances.

The path is about five miles long and will take us about three hours to complete.  We will meet at the Minute Man Visitor Center at 210 North Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773.  There is ample parking and no cost for admission.  We will park a car or two at Meriam’s Corner Parking Lot, 751 Lexington Road, Concord, MA, where we will end the walk so that we can carpool back.  Bring your lunch, and we can eat al fresca.  I hope you can join us!

If anyone needs to reach me today, my number is 781-405-7470.

I'm excited to see everyone this Saturday! It will be 65 and sunny, so great fall weather. Thank you Jims and Gene for meeting me at Meriam's Corner at 8:30am! If we do have the full 16-17 show up, I can just do a second run to bring people back to their cars. It's only a few minutes down the road. Ciao for now.

Hi Carl. I can meet you at Meriam’s Corner if you still need volunteers. O am not planning to carpool, but live in South End and am happy to pick up others along the way.

Carl Posted Oct 11, 2025 at 2:26 PM

Also, I'll need four volunteers to meet me at Meriam's Corner at 8:30am to park cars at the end. If anyone can carpool with others, we may need to park fewer cars at the end. Let me know if you are available to meet me at Meriam's Corner.

Hi everyone. With the federal government shut down, I took a drive by the park today and people are on it--but the parking lots are closed. We can still go (weather permitting), but we have to be a little more creative with our parking. There is parking on Marrett St, off of 2A/North Great Rd, and we can meet at the street-side entrance.
