This weekend will provide an opportunity to explore nature. There are several adventure options which include…

  • Guided hike up Mt Ascutney that will be MODERATE to STRENUOUS (Pace, elevation gain and distance).  Total distance is 6 miles with 3100 ft at highest elevation.
  • If you wish to lead a hiking group, please contact. Additional leaders are VERY welcome to join and lead groups.
  • Self-guided, resources will be available for those who wish to seek solitude or more challenging hikes.
  • Not a hiker? Many back roads through rural NH and VT. Maps and suggestions are available for “site seeing” adventures.
  • Several local swimming options including “gay friendly” locations. For more information visit Gay Outdoors “swimming holes in Vermont”. Hiking groups might consider a visiting or meeting up after a good wilderness adventure.
  • Guided night hikes around Mountainside. Exploring nature up close and in the dark.
  • Potluck/cook out/campfire on Saturday night. Several cooking options are available at Mountainside along with refrigerators for storage.

Yikes! Does anyone have driving directions? I don't know anyone in the group, but despite registering with Mountainside (and having been there once a few years back), I never got directions! Looking forward to the weekend, assuming I don't get lost! If anyone can share directions, you can text me at 774 722 2962 to respect their policy of not posting the location online. Thanks! --Keith

Hello: This will be my first time with the group. I most likely will be staying nearby. Do they allow guests to hang out with patrons at the site? Looking forward to meeting you all. --Frank

So I just called the number and the call dropped. I sent an email a while back, is this Tent/RV sites only? thinking if they have a cabin, I would rather rent for the 2 nights, in case of rain. Any help is appreciated!

Ginger, tried email again. Yes tent sites, cabin and rv options. I am tenting myself, several cabin options. Great place, hike will be fun too, but other options available. Let's chat some how. JT.
