After camping Sunday night in Mather Campground, we’ll awake bright and early on Monday morning to begin our long dayhike to North Rim Campground, where we will camp for one night before retracing our steps to the South Rim the next morning, camping on Tuesday night at Mather Campground, once again.

This will be an extremely strenuous dayhike/backpack, covering 21 miles over each of two consecutive days, so this trip is suitable only for experienced backpackers in peak condition. Owing to the exceptionally strenuous nature of this trip, the leader reserves the right to qualify participants. Please only sign up if you are serious about attending.

This trip will be by individual commissary, and we’re not planning any shared meals, so please plan to provide your own supply of food.

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

We’ll meet up at the Camper Services center of Mather Campground in Grand Canyon National Park at 5:00pm (SHARP!) on the afternoon of Sunday, October 3.

Not sure why the two "??" appeared in my message. Meant to show a Happy Face icon.. oh well- see you in Oct! Looking forward to the hike. I've done it solo many times- nice to do it with a group for a change!

Great ?? If you have time after the South to North Rim Hike - we can meet Monday eve at your campsite to say hello or at the North Rim Lodge restaurant for dinner depending on your preference and timing. I will have an SUV so it will be easy to get around the North Rim. Looking forward to this awesome hike!

Hi Chris: Would like to join your hike for just the North Rim to South Rim direction on Tues Oct 5 if that's OK. (I will be doing a 5 night backpack on the North Rim ending Monday Oct 4.) Already have lodging reserved on Mon & Tues nights so do not need to camp. Bob
