Summary
Our hike will bring us over three 4,000 footers - North, Middle and South Carter Mountains. The hike up via Imp Face has spectacular views over the valley towards Mt Washington. Views at the top are somewhat limited - but beautiful.
Our Route: Hike up the Imp Trail and the North Carter Trail (there are a number of water crossings – all manageable). We then take the Carter-Moriah Trail north to the North Carter Mtn summit. From there we will head south on the Carter-Moriah Trail. We will summit both Middle Carter & South Carter Mountains. Lastly, we will descend via the Carter Dome Trail and the Nineteen Mile Brook Trail.
This will be a loop hike with car spotting: We will meet at the Nineteen Mile Brook Trailhead parking. We will spot cars then drive north a short distance to the Imp Trailhead.
Estimated Elevation Gain: 3800 feet
Estimated Round Trip Distance: 11.6 miles
Estimated Duration (with lunch): 9 hours
Note: This hike is subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather.

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot
Heading north on NH 16 – the Nineteen Mile Brook Trailhead is 1.0 miles north of the Mt. Washington Auto Rd. entrance. Parking is on the east side of NH 16. Once we spot cars we will then travel a short distance north to the Imp Trailhead parking.
