Disclaimer: The club and its members take no responsibility and will not be held responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur during club events. Outdoor sports are inherently dangerous and accidents will happen. By joining the club or participating in any events posted on the GayOutdoors web page you are taking responsibility for your own safety and well-being. Anyone with an internet connection can post a trip on the GayOutdoors web site. It is your responsibility to determine if this person has the experience and competence to lead the trip. Be Prepared: Please be prepared to be self-sufficient. Have your own provisions such as first aid kit, food, water, extra clothing for unplanned weather, etc. Have your EMERGENCY CONTACT SHEET completed and in your backpack; it may save your life, and help reach someone who greatly cares!
Pace: There may be activities when the group is either slower or faster than your current ability. Please know that because this is a group activity, it's hard to accommodate everyone's pace perfectly. Our desire is not to leave anyone, however there have been times when it is in the best interest of all to split up. Please do your part by knowing your own abilities, communicating with the organizer head of time if you would like to start early and have us catch up or fine with finishing on your own.
Summary

Join us for a loop hike to Mt Roberts at Castle in the Clouds property.   This hike is about 8 miles with 1200 feet of elevation gain.   On the way up we will do the Mount Roberts trail with great views of Lake Winnepesaukee up to the summit, about 2.5 miles, where we will have lunch.   There are good views of the presidential range from the summit.    On the way down, we will descend by carriage roads via the High Ridge trail, Faraway Mountain trail, Cold Spring Trail, and Cold Spring Rd.  Afterwards, we might either have beverages at the Castle, or perhaps ice cream at Cones in the Clouds!

Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at:

From I-93, take Rt 25 east to Rt 109 South.   Go 2.2 miles on Rt 109, then stay left (straight) onto Rt 171 east.   Stay on Rt 171 for 0.5 miles, then turn left onto Ossipee Park Road into the Castle in the Clouds property.   The parking area will be 1.2 miles up Ossipee Park Road.    Note that Ossipee Park Road is before the main entrance to Castle in the Clouds, so if you get to the main entrance just turn around.    We will be driving a white Mini Cooper.   If anyone wants to carpool from Plymouth, NH, let us know
