Outdoor sports are inherently dangerous and accidents will happen. By joining the club or participating in any events posted on the GayOutdoors web page you are taking responsibility for your own safety and well-being. Anyone with an internet connection can post a trip on the GayOutdoors web site. It is your responsibility to determine if this person has the experience and competence to lead the trip. Be Prepared: Please be prepared to be self-sufficient. Have your own provisions such as first aid kit, food, water, extra clothing for unplanned weather, etc. Have your EMERGENCY CONTACT SHEET completed and in your backpack; it may save your life, and help reach someone who greatly cares!
Pace: There may be activities when the group is either slower or faster than your current ability. Please know that because this is a group activity, it's hard to accommodate everyone's pace perfectly. Our desire is not to leave anyone, however there have been times when it is in the best interest of all to split up. Please do your part by knowing your own abilities, communicating with the organizer head of time if you would like to start early and have us catch up or fine with finishing on your own.
Summary

The Nathan Hale Homestead is a historic home located at 2299 South Street in Coventry, CT.  It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Surrounding the house is the Nathan Hale State Forest, maintained by the CT DEEP.  There are UNblazed trails crisscrossed through the forest ideal for walking and hiking.

I plan on an easy hike of 1.5 to 2 hours, enjoying the nice spring weather, but that can be extended as well.

Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at:

Meet in the back side of the grassy lot at the start of the trail into the woods.  The address is 2299 South St, Coventry, CT 06238.

From Hartford, take I84E to I384E for 8.7 miles.  I384E becomes US 6E.  Follow US 6E for 2.8 miles and turn left onto South St.  Follow South St for 3 miles.  The homestead is on the right, and the trails are towards the back of the parking area.
