Summary
From Sesimbra looping through the mountains to the west via the Castelo de Sesimbra to Portugal's "most beautiful beach", the Ribeira do Cavalo Beach.
The hike is roughly 20 km. This is a medium level fitness walk and requires walking in some rough terrain and some steep hills. Please wear suitable footwear. The temperatures at this time of year should be ok for light clothing during the day, but please make sure to check the weather report beforehand. Weather permitting, please bring a towel and swimwear if you want to swim at the beach.
Please bring a packed lunch and water/drinks for during the hike. There will only be limited catering (one café at Castelo) as most of the terrain is forest. There are no catering facilities on the beach.
Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot
We will take the TST bus from Praça de Espanha to Sesimbra. We will meet at the TST ticket booth, which is the small white booth opposite the Hotel des Açores. I'll be wearing a red top so you can recognise me.
