In Central Shenandoah National Park, just north of the Byrd Visitor's Center, Big Meadows, there are quite a few nice trails
For those at the campground, we'll hike from our campsite to Fishers Gap Overlook parking lot. Meet at Fisher's Gap Overlook. Fisher's Gap Overlook is between Mile Post 49 and 50, Skyline Drive. We'll walk across the street to trailhead off Rose River Fire Road.

This was a great hike and I brought along my sleeping hammock and boy was I glad I did. A perfect 60 min nap by a babbling brook. We did cross paths with a rather larger Timber Rattler, but just admired it was it went on by without a hesitation or concern we were so close ot it.
