Join us for a relaxing time camping (or rent a rustic cabin) in Shenandoah
User your favorite map app to find the campground. Search on Lewis Mountain Campground, Skyline Drive, Stanardsville, VA. Google Maps works great for that address.

We arrived fearing clouds and showers but were greated with bright, sunny skies, albeit 15 degrees cooler up top at the campground compared to the valley. We got all set up (first time using the camper really) and afterwards went for a drive along Skyline Drive and dinner at Skyland.
After dinner, around dark, it was time for a roaring fire and relaxation. After an hour the sprinkles started and then a steady shower so we went under the large canopy and enjoyed the fire from a distance. Later that night the showers continued and the wee hours of the morning the winds and thunderstorms came. Fortunately the thunderstorm was limited to the valley and the rain ended in the early morning. We didn't care since we were warm and dry in the camper. Another bit of luck is that the storms cleared in time for the morning's hike.
