Max # People: 16

Trip Guiding / Event Fee: No, I will not be asking participants for money

SUMMARY:
Come on along for a spectacular and spooky fall hike in the always scenic and verdant Arnold Arboretum. Beginning at the main entrance, our hike will take us throughout the entire preserve for about 4 miles. In honor of Halloween, we'll here about the frightening, unsolved Bussey Woods Murders of 1865 and the spirits of the Revolutionary War soldiers whose bones are buried there. A much less scary highlight will be the Reunion of Trees, of which Carlos is an expert. And of course we'll take in the spectacular views of Boston and surroundings from Bussey and Peters Hills, ascend the summit of Hemlock Hill, and viewing the magnificent tree and and shrub specimens in all of their colorful, fall majesty. The Arnold Arboretum is a 300-acre treasure operated by Harvard University on land owned by the City of Boston. It's a National Historic Landmark, and it's one of the finest examples of landscape design by Frederick Law Olmsted. Please wear your good hiking shoes and bring a liter of water. After our fabulous walk, we'll head over to the nearby, vibrant Jamaica Plain Center where we can extend the fun at a local eatery.
