US

Max # People: 12

Trip Guiding / Event Fee: No, I will not be asking participants for money

Difficulty Level: Moderate

SUMMARY:
Join us on a scenic, low-traffic bike ride along the Baker River Valley from Rumney, NH to Wentworth, NH using quiet backroads. We will meet at the Rumney Baptist Church, as they have a large dirt parking lot behind the church. We will bike on Buffalo Road, then a very short distance on both East Side Road to Rt 25, and then end at Riverside Park in Wentworth, where we will have lunch. Riverside Park has a couple of picnic tables and a river and swimming hole. We may go out for beverages afterwards for any one interested. The bike ride is just shy of 9 miles each way, so a total of 18 miles. The ride is mostly flat with some gentle rolling hills. The roads are paved, except for a one mile portion on a well maintained dirt road. I've done this ride quite fine with hybrid bike, so a mountain bike is not necessary. This event is scheduled in association with the GO gathering in Waterville Valley (note it is 38 minutes / 26 miles from Osceola Vista campground to Rumney Baptist Church where the ride will start). In case of rain, the first option is to reschedule this bike ride for Sunday June 28. Option 2 would be to change this bike ride to an easy/moderate hike at Waterville Valley, in case that hiking closer by would be a better option than a bike ride on Saturday
