Meeting Time: 6:30 PM

Event Coordinator: prolot0
Goffstown, NH
US

Max # People: 15

Trip Guiding / Event Fee: No, I will not be asking participants for money

Difficulty Level: Moderate

SUMMARY:

Catch the sunset, moonrise, and stars the night before the Blue Moon! Join us for a rewarding evening hike to the North and South Uncanoonuc peaks in Goffstown, NH – just 15 minutes from Manchester.

This short but exciting adventure breaks away from flat-trail boredom with steep rocky scrambles, open ledges, and sweeping views of the Manchester skyline, South Uncanoonuc’s towers, and distant mountain ranges. We’ll be hiking up in time to catch sunset from the summit before descending under moonlight and stars.

This trail is known for being a bit of a “lung buster” because the climb starts almost immediately, but the payoff is absolutely worth it. Once at the summit, we’ll catch sunset views before descending under moonlight and stars.

Hike Details Distance: 1.2 miles

Elevation Gain: 436 ft

Estimated Time: 0.5–1 hour

Route Type: Loop

Difficulty: Moderate due to steep sections and rocky terrain

Expect a mix of hemlock forest, rocky ramps, and open clearings overlooking Manchester. Important It is absolutely imperative that you wear proper hiking shoes or boots and bring a torch/headlamp, as we will be descending after sunset in the dark.

Please bring: Water and snacks Layers Sunscreen Waterproof hiking boots/shoes Traction devices if conditions require them
