Hiking - Easy First Weekend of Spring Hike

Meeting Time: 10:00 AM

Event Coordinator: GpD
Groton, MA

Max # People: 15

Trip Guiding / Event Fee: No, I will not be asking participants for money

Difficulty Level: Easy

SUMMARY:
Come explore this trail with me! We'll take the Heronry, Ovenbird, and Chestnut Oak Loop trails. The hike is 3.5 miles and is relatively flat with an elevation gain of 285 feet. The trail's highlight is the "heronry" itself, which is a rocky outcrop where you can peek at a beaver pond. If we're lucky, there may be some great blue herons nesting early in the tall dead trees. This time of year, the weather can be volatile, so please be prepared to hike on snowy or muddy paths.
